I've been anxiously waiting a for football game on the iPhone. I mean, I love love racing, golf and GPS apps. But come on!! Where are all the football apps? I had thought our only hope for NFL football on the iPhone would be from EA. Well, Gameloft has come to rescue the day with NFL 2010 and I'm here to tell you, you will not be disappointed.NFL 2010 is not some watered down Football management simulation, it's a full-featured NFL game. The controls are smart, the touch-screen interface and gameplay that Gameloft has employed is pure genius and easy to grasp. The 3D graphics and the audio commentary are top-notch for a handheld version of America's favorite sport. Did I mention the controls? Genius.

The playbook is vast for a portable version of football, you have over 200 plays to choose from with a variety of different sets. I am however finding difficulty in finding how to reverse a play. Maybe I just don't know how, but I've looked and I can't find a way of doing it. The only other thing I find missing is some kind of multiplayer mode. However, Gameloft has promised in the next update they will have Online, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi multiplayer. This makes the $7.99 price worth it, especially when you see all the other updates they are promising in the next release.
My advice? If you're a football junkie, don't wait for Madden. NFL 2010 has plenty of awesome gameplay that it will tide you over until Madden arrives. Besides, who's to say that NFL 2010 might just be better than Madden for the iPhone anyway? I guess we'll have to wait in see, in the meantime, I'm gonna stand solid in pocket and throw the ball down field with NFL 2010.
