Skyforce Reloaded - A recaptured genre.

sfr_hdrsfr_iconA couple of decades ago, shooters ruled the gaming industry. I didn't matter if you were playing on a PC or console, odds were it was some type of shoot 'em up. Then a little company call id Software released Wolfenstein 3D in 1992. It was a game-changer. The horizontal and vertical scrolling shooter days were numbered.

sfr_1Now, I like me some FPS's. I'm a Halo 3, Left 4 Dead, Battlefield 2, Call of Duty crack head. However, I grew up in the era when scrolling shooters were in their height. No Xbox live, no wireless controllers, just you and a joystick shooting the hell out of everything. If you ever played 1942 at the arcade, you know what I'm talking about. I don't know how many hours I played these kind of games either at the arcade or on my C64 and Commodore Amiga 500. There something charming about this genre and I'm happy to say that Infinite Dreams has captured it perfectly with Skyforce Reloaded.

sfr_2Skyforce Reloaded is currently the best shooter on the iTunes store. Period. It captures the shooter genre perfectly, even down to the 8-bit SID sounding music. The graphics are eye-grabbing and the controls are perfect. The first few levels you can cruise through easily, but just wait until you get to levels six through eight. It had been so long since I had played a shooter, I had forgotten how addictive and challenging they can be. Infinite Dreams has a winner with Skyforce Reloaded. I'm crossin' my fingers that there's a sequel in the works. Check out the video review for more details.

Man, this is my first time at your site, and I had to let you know how much I appreciate the way you produce your review videos. The lighting is great, you hold the device (not sure if it's an iphone or a touch) steady, and you show enough of the game to get a feel for it without getting bored of it.

Great job! BTW, your review of skyforce reloaded has convinced me to buy it.
