Galaga REMIX - The 1980's in my pocket.

Some of the best memories in my younger days, was heading down to Merlin's Castle with a pocket full of quarters. Arcades were the ONLY place to play the BEST games. Consoles were around, they just weren't that good. If you had a choice of playing Asteroids on a stand-up or the Atari 2600, you'd choose the stand-up.

I don't wanna play Gorf, I wanna play Galaga!

Galaga was released in 1981, right in the middle of the Video Arcade explosion. It was a sequel to Galaxian, which was released two years prior. Galaga was king, it was Galaxian on steriods. You could fire more than one missile at a time and it was the first video game to give you a hit/miss ratio when your game was over.

"So what?! Your high score was 110,000? Your ratio was only 48.2% dude!"

Galaga, in my pocket. I must be dreaming.

The worst thing was, only having an hour to spend at the arcade and seeing a line of people waiting to play Galaga. I mean, I could play Gorf or I could just wait 40 minutes and have maybe 10-15 minutes with Galaga. I always opted to wait.

GALAGA REMIX FOR THE iPHONE.

I was SO excited when I heard Namco was releasing my all-time favorite to the iPhone. I immediately emailed Namco requesting a review copy. In retrospect, I probably sounded more like a fan-boy than an iPhone App reviewer.

Isn't it ok to be both?

REMIX is a ton of fun and feels so familiar.

Well, I'm happy to say, if you loved Galaga growing up, you're going to love Galaga REMIXED. Galaga REMIXED contains the original classic Galaga as well as a all new REMIXED.
