Oh, dude! Someone threw away a perfectly good Magic 8 Ball! Sweet! You know the drill with hidden object games: look at the picture and find the objects. Well, the folks over at Big Fish Games really did a great job bringing this concept to the iPhone and iPod Touch. The tap controls and the ability to rotate the screen make for an enjoyable interface.
In their take on this classic game concept, you are in a contest versus other teams traveling around the world searching for clues. Your progress versus the other teams is tracked with a little bar that goes across the bottom of the screen. Just enough visual info to make you stress a little about your Find Rate. Each of the different zones are beautifully done and also very challenging. The Hint button is a little liberal but not enough to warrant a full complaint.
The people of Romania would soon form a new religion, The Cult of the Giant 9 Ball.I am not sure how big the game is, but I have been playing regularly for a while now and still haven't finished it. So you're definitely getting your $1.99's worth. All that goodness does clock in at a hefty 117mb of precious space, understandable with all the great imagery.
I do have a wishlist of things I'd like to see in future Hidden Expedition titles. Along with my tendency towards all things visual, I also love info-porn. I wish the game tracked time and returned some stats. It would be great, too, if I could select my save game at the start so my wife and kids could play their own adventure. Also, I wish they'd take all the data and do some leader boards. That would be swell.

Now if only there was a first person shoot-em-up Where's Waldo...my gaming needs would be complete.
Dude, or even a Shmup Lazy Town game.
