Pow! Makes Me Feel Like a ’60’s Batman! Or Robin, at least.

Who loves the original “Batman” movie and TV show? Anyone without their hands raised should leave this site immediately.

Just kidding, we love you all equally. For those of us who have a penchant for campy, goofy fun, though, “Batman” was the epitome of delicious cheese. This app has no official affiliation with “Batman,” DC Comics, or any of its properties. But it sure does bring the camp, and we love it for that.

Anyone who has ever wanted to be a crime fighting superhero has wanted it for only one reason. You want to lay into someone while cheesy music plays. You want your fist to land on the bad guy’s face with a loud “thwack” accompanied by an expulsion from a horned instrument. Most of all, though, you want to see a comic book bubble pop into your life and exclaim, in over-the-top lettering, the words “Boof!” “Whack!” or “Thud!”

Well, superhero wannabes, Pow! will make all your dreams come true.

Next time you face off against your arch enemy (or boss, or helpless small child), pull the iPhone from your utility belt, launch this app, and go to town. Each punch you throw will give you the satisfaction of a cheesy sound as well as a full-screen video sound. ”BOOF!”

The app has no bells and whistles, nor does it need any. A nice intro and quick load time are big plusses, and a single button enables you to turn the sound on or off to customize the experience.

It’s important to remember, though, that with great power comes great responsibility. Be sure to beat the living $h!# out of people responsible, and be careful not to fling your phone across the room. That would be very un-Batman-like.
